Science Signaling Web Submissions

Welcome to the Science Signaling
electronic Manuscript Submission Site

Submitting through this site will expedite processing of your manuscript.
The following screens will guide you through the electronic submission process for submitting a new manuscript to Science Signaling. (To edit an active but incomplete submission, please return to the main page and click on the appropriate link). We strongly recommend that you read our Information for Contributors and Directions for Electronic Submission. During the submission process you will be asked to provide or transmit the following:
  • Names and addresses, including email addresses, of all authors
  • A Text version of the title and abstract (you can paste this in from your manuscript file)
  • For Reviews and Teaching Resources, a text version of the cover letter. This should include a statement of the main topic covered by the article, contact information of the corresponding author, a list of contributing authors, and a list of any colleagues who have read the article. You may also suggest peer reviewers.
  • File(s) containing the manuscript and figures. Figure files should be compatible with Macintosh computers Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop. Figures must be at least 300 dpi if they are to be used without redrawing. These must be in one of the following formats:
    • For text files: [Please name your manuscript text as Author's last name followed by the file type extension (example, Smith.doc)]
      • .doc (Microsoft Word) version 6 or later only
      • .rft (Rich Text Format) please save as version 6 or later
    • For figure files: (in descending order of preference) [Please name your figures with the first author's name + figure number (examples, SmithF1.eps, SmithF2.eps)]
      • Illustrator EPS (Encapsulated Post Script) or AI (Adobe Illustrator),
      • Photoshop PSD (Photoshop - with active text layers, do not flatten, do not rasterize text layers),
      • PDF, TIF, PICT, JPG, GIF.
      • Submit files prepared in Corel Draw or Macromedia Freehand saved as EPS's.
      • Submit files prepared in PowerPoint as PPT files. (Figures prepared in PowerPoint will be redrawn by the Science Signaling art department to achieve necessary resolution.)
    All text, references, figure captions, and table legends must be in one file only. Figures, tables, and supplemental material should be sent as separate files, one file for each complete figure or table. Files in other formats or that do not end with the appropriate file extension will not be accepted. The maximum size of all files should not exceed 7 MB.
  • This form is for submission of Science Signaling manuscripts only. If your article has supplemental materials that do not fit the listed file types, then contact the Science Signaling Editorial office at ScienceSignalingEditors@AAAS.org. Please include your Web Submission ID, name and manuscript title as reference.
